Elk Creek will provide a Chromebook for every child in grades third, fourth and fifth grade. First and second grade will have access to shared Chromebooks and kindergarten will have access to shared IPads. All students will have access to the computer lab. All school-owned devices will stay at school.

Families at Elk Creek may purchase a Chromebook for their child if they would like to have a device at home for the school year.  This Chromebook is an optional fee and can be purchased through student fees. Please see below for specs on the optional Lenovo Chromebook.

Lenovo Chromebook 100e comes with a 1 year warranty.  Please contact Mrs. Liz in the front office for further questions on payments. Please allow time for device to be ordered and processed.

Elk Creek Agreements for Devices

School Purchased Chromebook

  • Will be checked out to the student and will need to be returned by the end of the year 
  • Take good care of the device and protect it from damage and lost
  • Do not write, draw, stick or adhere anything to the device without teacher permission
  • Do not personalize the device with markers, stickers, etc.
  • Do not expose the device to direct sunlight, extreme temperatures for extended periods of time
  • Responsible for paying for damages and repair to the Chromebook
  • Will remain at school and charged in the cart overnight
  • Use the device in accordance and compliance with all of the school's use instructions, policies and requirements (use of Internet)

Family Purchased Chromebook (optional)

  • Will be owned by families (if paid in full) but managed by the district
  • Take good care of the device and protect it against damage and lost
  • Use the device in accordance and compliance with all of the schools and district use instructions, policies and requirements (use of Internet)
  • Inform the school if the device is damaged, destroyed, lost or stolen
  • Families are responsible for the cost of replacing the device and the cost for all repairs on the device (may go through the school for repairs)
  • When the student moves to the Middle school or if the student leaves the Elementary school and the device is paid in full they may keep the device
  • May personalize the device
  • Is responsible for taking it home and bringing it back to school
  • Is responsible for keeping it charged
